I don’t get it, is this a game or a Tarot deck?
Both! It is a game that is played with Tarot cards. But we also have a stand-alone deck. And our tabletop roleplaying game, which also plays with Tarot cards. It’s everything, really.
About the Deck
Who made these wonderful graphics and illustrations?
The gifted Viv Tanner and Eli Baum.
Are the minor arcana fully illustrated?
We take a somewhat new approach to this: aces & face cards will be fully illustrated, but the cards from 2 to 10 for each suit will be more closer to the Marseille style, holding more allegorical information and details in the compositions. Jodorowsky’s “The Way of Tarot” is a major inspiration for us on that path.
Can I still buy the deck?
The original Kickstarter edition is unfortunately out of stock, although you might still find it in our retailer friends’ shops. But, The Spheres of Heaven Tarot Deck, the latest iteration of our deck will be available for sale from August on! You can already order it here.
About the Board Game
Are the rules complicated?
Not exactly. There are some simple logical challenges, but once you get past that, it’s easy and meditative.
For how many players is the board game?
One or two. You can play against the fates by yourself, fight another player or explore your joined destiny in the two player coop mode.
Is there some sort of divination going on as well?
Indeed, there is. Beneath the accessible game mechanics for all three game modes, there are numerous pathways that one might take to read what the cards have to offer. And of course the boards those cards are laid on as well.
When will this be available?
Currently we are selling all available items via https://shop.sefirot.games/!
Can I just buy the Tarot deck?
You can, but you miss out on unique play modes that the game has to offer, that also features a full Tarot deck.
Are there different card sizes?
Our stand-alone Tarot deck comes with cards of the standard format, 4.75 x 2.75”, or 12.0 x 7.0 cm. The deck included in the board game contains bridge sized cards, 3.5 x 2.25”, or 8.9 x 5.7 cm.
Are there art prints as well?
Yes, you can still get a set of 5 prints, depicting our favorite cards of many – The Fool, The Empress, The Hermit, The Knight of Swords, and The King of Pentacles There are also various other items: Pins, an Altar Cloth, a Tarot Journal and an Artbook!
Can I play the board game with another Tarot card deck?
Yes you can – but be aware that the boards are designed for smaller cards than the standard Tarot deck size. It still works though, it just gets a bit crowded!
Is Discoria a real place? Is it true that this Sefirot game was invented there?
“Nothing is true, everything is permitted.” WS Burroughs
